If you want to use the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch mobile app follow these steps:

  • Buy the StreamTunes mobile app at the iTunes App store. The app comes with a free license for the StreamTunes for iTunes PC application which is used as a media server.

  • Start the StreamTunes mobile app to view the setup instructions for installing StreamTunes for iTunes on your PC and configuring the StreamTunes app.

  • After you install and start StreamTunes for iTunes on your PC, click 'Register' then enter an email address and password. You will uses the registration credentials for StreamTunes.tv and configuring the iOS StreamTunes app.

  • Go to the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch Settings (mobile device's main screen), click on StreamTunes and then fill in the 'Media Server Registration' settings. This connects the iOS app to your media server.

  • You are now ready to start the StreamTunes mobile app.

  • If you have a Firewall make sure you have setup port forwarding for your PC's local IP address on port 8090 see here for detail.

  • The StreamTunes mobile app works with the StreamTunes for iTunes media server.

  • The StreamTunes for iTunes media server can be accessed via a web browser from https://www.streamtunes.tv or using the StreamTunes mobile app which used the RSS feeds created by the PC application.

If you want to use Safari then follow these steps:

  • Buy the StreamTunes for iTunes and install on your PC.

  • Start StreamTunes for iTunes then click 'Setup Mobile' which will display instructions for configuring your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. When you follow these instructions you will end up with an icon on the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch which is a link to your StreamTunes for iTunes media server.


To play a track select the playlist entry and the track will be played. When the track is done, click done then StreamTunes to go back to the playlist.

THIS APP IS CRAP!!!! DOES NOT START!!!!! CLIENT IS A DEAD LINK WITH NO REAL RSS FEED.....

The iPad app is crashing as soon as you select any playlist. The app starts up and immediately displays a list of all the playlists in iTunes. you can single-tap any of the playlists and it highlights the selection. As soon as you double tap or hit the blue arrow to the right of a playlist, the app goes away and you are back on the iPad desktop.

I am running the version of iPlayAnywhere I downloaded today (7/28/2010) and iOS 3.2.1 (7b409).
